This bangle is woven in peyote stitch and the whole thing is one continuous piece - each bead is joined to the next to make one continous band. This is a technique learned from Jean Power who is known for her geometric beadwork. Tweaking her even sided triangles into isosceles triangles with two long sides and a short. This is to echo the quilt shapes.
It is self repeating like a fractal, a series of 5 beads from small to large are stitched and repeated. At the join the bangle is turned in a complete circle so the triangles spray out like the quilt design.
As seen in Jean Power's book Geometric Beadwork
Inspired by the fractal art quilt Rabbit Hole.
You can see how the colours work with the printed silk fabric and silk ribbon embroidery.
