A lovely trip to England to visit my family during the best summer month. All the gladioli were out in the little cottage gardens and the sky was so blue. With hindsight this piece marks a moment – it was the last time my parents and I were together on one of our London trips. In April the following year my father died.
I chose a labyrinth design, as I have always been curious about this phenomenon and wanted to try reverse appliqué. Hand appliquéd and quilted on hand dyed fabrics.
