In 2014 Donna deSoto invited quilt artists to create a piece depicting the Flora and Fauna of our American National Parks. I chose Bracken from the North Cascades park, nearby my home in Portland, Oregon.

Bracken is a fern. Ferns are natural fractals so my style fitted the criteria. Pulling out the natural colors of bracken, I was able to design a ‘fractal fern’ for this project.
