This necklace was made for the Bead Soup Blog Party 7 in 2013. I received a lovely soup mix from Shirley Moore at the Bread and Beads blog. Amongst all the goodies were some emerald magatamas and this green donut focal bead.
The necklace is approximately 31 inches long from toggle to clasp. It’s a long rope and the pendant hangs quite low.
I ended up putting together this bright, summery necklace in yellows, greens and a smidgen of orange to accent. The donut pendant is netted, filled with magatamas and a green druk and then hung from the chain with a peyote stitched bail.
The rope is done in herringbone stitch and includes little bumps of flowers made with the magatamas and seed beads.
The clasp is made with magatamas around a circle of peyote. I love the way the clasp echoes the donut pendant.
