Pattern: Original design.
Medium: Hand dyed shibori cotton fabric.
Technique: Machine pieced and quilted.

This is a representational piece using six pieces of shibori hand dyed cotton, strip pieced together and then quilted. The top shows the sky as seen through a haze of leaves, the center shows the rippled reflection of sunlight on water, the bottom shows the grass growing from the earth. There is an atmosphere of a hot, clear day in summer.

Techniques used in this piece:

cotton fabric is hand dyed using the Japanese method of shibori;
machine pieced;
machine quilted.
