Medium : Gouache and ink on watercolour paper

In the artist's private collection

When I lived in Antigua there was no colour printing. Only black and white. So the artist's would create a pen and ink drawing, have it printed on good quality paper and then colour wash the drawing. This was the closest we got to creating a series of prints.

This picture is not one of the original drawings, it is still with me. But the drawing represented the island where I lived for ten years so I recreated the picture.

Pepperpot stew was a local Caribbean dish filled with all sorts of vegetables and meat. This picture is filled with all sorts of memories of my life in the Islands.
