Back in 1986 I emigrated from England to Antigua in the West Indies. One of the first things I did was to join the local art society and attend the annual show. I remember looking at the work and thinking - "hey, I can do this".

So I did. This piece was inspired by a hibiscus bush in my back yard. It sold at the next art show for $100 - a lot of money in those days.

It was not signed - just my initials RR back to back and the date 18/8/87, August 18th, 1987. We Brits write our dates back to front!

Don't remember the name of the lady who bought it. If anyone recognises the piece I would love to know where it is now and who owns it.
