12. The piece appliquéd down and pins removed.
13. The back of the joined piece is trimmed out leaving the freezer paper exposed.
14. Ease up the edges of the freezer paper over the seam and iron down.
15. Fit the next piece of the template snug with the first and iron it down.
16. Using a lead pencil draw around the edge of the template. Be sure to include all register marks.
17. Trim around the whole piece leaving about a quarter inch seam.
18. Peel off the freezer paper. You should be able to clearly see the pencil line and register marks.
19. The same principle is used to appliqué more pieces onto a strip. Pin on the finished section to the next piece of fabric.
20. Back of the pinned fabric.
21. Use a straw or appliqué needle and very fine matching silk or cotton thread. Needleturn the fabric around the edge of the freezer paper, smoothing it down with your thumbnail. This will give a nice even curve.
