Pattern: Original fractal design.
Medium: Hand dyed and printed cotton.

This is the first fractal quilt I constructed. Black, grey and white with a splash of red is a classic colour combination and gave me the opportunity to experiment with technique. Despite the colouring many viewers see an underwater scene with coral fronds.
Techniques used in this piece:
- curved pieces are seamed together by machine;
- hand dyed red cotton is appliquéd onto the background;
- red chenille yard is couched onto the fractal fronds;
- fractal fronds are shadowed with marker pen;
- the string of bobbles on the top left are stuffed hand dyed cotton.
- machine quilted with metallic thread.
