Oatlands Plantation was about five miles from my home in Virginia. For many years they have held an art exhibition and this was my entry for 2000. Each square represents one season, going clockwise: Spring, Summer, Winter and Autumn.
Techniques used in this piece:
- curved pieces are seamed together by hand;
- the dark fabric is gathered and appliquéd down;
- the piece is quilted entirely by hand.
