Mankind reaches the top of the cliffs of progress and looks down from a great height at the Mandelbrot Lake floating serenely through clouds.

Information on tools and materials used in this quilt

Techniques used in this piece:

  • curved pieces are seamed together by hand;
  • hand dyed silk fabric is furrowed by stitching down with glass beads and floss;
  • beads and floss are stitched into the purple Mandelbrot Lake to represent haze;
  • the piece is quilted entirely by hand.
