Well…..! A free Block of the Month designed to teach you about color. Now I say this is pretty darn decent. Craftsy.com have managed to get Amy Walsh and Janine Burke to put together a video showing you color basics, color combinations, value contrasts, and something called hexadic color schemes. I had to look it up as I was as flummoxed as you!
To teach you all this largess you get to make six blocks. If you don’t want to think about selecting fabrics then naturally (!) you can buy the Michael Miller kits directly from Craftsy.
One of the very first quilted projects I worked on was a Christmas Tree Skirt so I have a soft heart for these patterns. Here is a Quick Spiral Quilt Christmas Tree Skirt – a free Christmas quilting pattern by Cheryl Phillips for Sulky. try it with different colours. Personally I find this version rather gloomy and would make it in brighter shades. But I like the pattern.
And of course, you have to have a table runner. Well, my table runner isn’t on the table, it keeps getting used on the filing cabinet, or the printer table, or the drinks cabinet. The point is, it gets USED! So make yourself a Christmas Star Table Runner from Bella Online.
