I’ve used the smaller spools of Soft Touch for hand appliqué but it’s nice to have a larger spool of thread when using it on a sewing machine. You can get some really flat seams when piecing. Here you have a good range of neutrals – Grey, White, and Natural.
Try this 12wt cotton thread from WonderFil. It’s a heavy thread and works well as a top layer in your machine quilting lines. Here are Spagetti spools in Fun Orange, Golden Yellow, Turquoise, and Magenta.
Mettler have had a fit and are updating many of their threads. Here are some newly numbered 60wt cotton 220 yard spools in the store. And they are GREEN spools. Brilliant. We now have White, Black, Oat Straw, Kelley, and Byzantium
We are re-photographing many of our threads for the online store. While I was learning all about how to use Camera Raw in Adobe Photoshop (oh my!) I realised how lovely this fine thread is for hand applique. Originally it was introduced as a bobbin thread but quilters found it worked perfectly for the tiny stitches needed to applique their pieces down to a background.
