Earlier I posted about the 1000 yard minicones of YLI Soft Touch 60wt cotton thread. Can you believe there’s a 6000 yard spool available too? Wowsers! The useful neutrals – Grey, White, and Natural.
I’ve used the smaller spools of Soft Touch for hand appliqué but it’s nice to have a larger spool of thread when using it on a sewing machine. You can get some really flat seams when piecing. Here you have a good range of neutrals – Grey, White, and Natural.
Plus it’s great in the bobbin.

We are re-photographing many of our threads for the online store. While I was learning all about how to use Camera Raw in Adobe Photoshop (oh my!) I realised how lovely this fine thread is for hand applique. Originally it was introduced as a bobbin thread but quilters found it worked perfectly for the tiny stitches needed to applique their pieces down to a background.
