How Is This Fractal Art Quilt Made?

  • The blue background is corded trapunto.
  • Sections of the yellow background are stuffed trapunto.
  • The stripes on the binding are stippled with a permanent marker as is the shadow under the eye.
  • Bugle beads are stitched around the circles.
  • The edge of the Mandelbrot Set is hand embroidered with silk ribbon French knots.
  • It is hand quilted with Perfect Quilter, a variegated cotton thread by Superior; with a Jean Lyle #11Q quilting needle.
  • The pieces are hand appliquéd on with YLI silk thread and a Jean Lyle straw needle.
